What Can the Care Simulator Teach?

The versatile simulator includes both male and female genital organs for more realistic training of both catheterisation and ostomy care. Specifically, the simulator facilitates the following demonstrations:

  • Catheterisation Training: Everything is included to simulate catheter insertion. As both male and female genitals are included, students can practice insertion on both sexes. To ease the training, each genital organs feature a modular urethral valve to prevent fluid leakage.
  • Ostomy Care: The simulator includes three stomas – transverse colostomy, ileostomy, and suprapubic – to cater to the care requirements of a range of patients. Each stoma can be dilated, and they allow for practising irrigation procedures and the application of ostomy bags. Each stoma is connected to an internal tank.
