How Is This Different from the Adult Choking Manikin?

Pregnant women and overweight people have limited anatomical features that are visible due to their size. In this case, the rib cage remains hidden by excess fatty tissue over the abdomen and pectorals. As such, the dimensions of this obese manikin are much larger than the standard adult manikin.

How Does the Obese Choking Manikin Work?

This Obese Choking Manikin from Simulaids is supplied with two choking hazards that are attached via a string necklace for easy accessibility. These choking hazards imitate a small hot-dog slice and a hardboiled sweet which, when lodged in a manikin’s throat, allow for the demonstration and practice of CPR techniques and manoeuvres like abdominal thrusts and back blows. Users are able to choose where to position their hands and can use the anatomical landmarks on the dummy for guidance. If correct CPR procedures are performed, the dummy will expel the object from its airway.
