Who Can Use the Callisto Blade and Handle Pack?

The Callisto Blade and Handle Pack is designed for use by trained medical professionals during laryngoscope procedures. The blade and pre-loaded handle combine to create a ready-to-use laryngoscpoe system that offers excellent illumination, reliable strength, and time efficacy.

How Hygienic Are the Macintosh Blades and Handles?

As the Castillo Macintosh Blades and Handles are designed for single use only, they are much more hygienic than reusable alternatives. The no-touch hook design further helps to prevent contamination by reducing the need for direct contact with the laryngoscope.

The base of the handle and back of the blade are also clearly marked as being designed for single use only. This helps to reduce the risk of them accidentally being used more than once.

How Powerful Is the LED Bulb?

Each Timesco Callisto Preloaded Handle is fitted with a powerful LED bulb for excellent illumination. This provides an average minimum output of around 11,000 lux when measured 2cm from the bulb. As the blades feature a highly polished 4mm acrylic core, this offers maximum illumination.

The handles are pre-loaded with alkaline button cell batteries. The expiry date of the batteries are clearly marked on the back of the handle for reliable use.

How Reliable Is the Callisto Macintosh Pack?

The fittings of the Callisto Macintosh Pack conform to ISO 7376:2006 ‘Anaesthetic and respiratory equipment – Laryngoscopes for tracheal intubation’. This provides peace of mind that the products are designed to a reliable standard.

The metal hook bar also offers exceptional strength for a single-use handle. The blade features two metal ball bearings for secure fitting, with a rigid metal spatula designed to look and feel like a reusable fibre optic blade.
