The Palpation Model for Leopold Manoeuvres is ideal for students training with birth simulators. The fetus is cradled between two “cushions” and can be positioned in a number of ways due to the flexibility of the baby. The fontanels, spine, shoulders, elbows and knees can all be manipulated and the fetus can be placed normally or in a breech or transverse position. The cushions can be inflated independently of each other, either to raise the baby to the required position or to create a firm abdomen as it would be in the ninth month of pregnancy.
