Med Sled Bariatric Evacuation Sled

In times of emergency, timing is everything and usually there is no time to wait for professional help when a building needs to be evacuated. The Med Sled Bariatric Evacuation Sled is designed with an additional 12″ of width to help you transport your largest patients, as well as your ICU or post-operation patients who might need to be transferred along with additional padding or life-support equipment.

Features and Benefits of the Evacuation Sled

  • Cost-effective and efficient solution for disaster prevention
  • Made from High-Density Polyethylene
  • Assembled and ready to use for horizontal and vertical evacuation
  • Patented Perimeter Tether and Stairwell Breaking System for added safety
  • Allows staff to transport patients two to three times their weight
  • Uses Roll and Drag method, so no heavy lifting is required
  • Suitable for hospitals, nursing homes, schools, universities, offices and public buildings

Roll and Drag Method

One of the best features of the Med Sled is that it uses the Roll and Drag method, which ensures that no heavy lifting is required and practically anyone can use it with a minimal amount of training required. As there is no lifting involved, a person weighing 8 stone can transport someone twice their weight with relative ease.

Patented Perimeter Tether and Stairwell Breaking System

Equipped with the Patented Perimeter Tether and Stairwell Breaking System this Evacuation Sled ensures the descent is as safe as possible, as it:

  • Provides patient stabilisation
  • Has backboard-like qualities
  • Can hold IV bags, oxygen and other necessary life-sustaining equipment

High-Density Polyethylene

High-Density Polyethylene delivers excellent rigidity, superior stress crack resistance, high impact and melt strength and moderate swell. Some of the material’s other characteristics include:

  • Maintaining molecular consistencies in extreme temperatures (from -76°C to 126°C)
  • Very low fluid absorption rate (less than a 0.01% absorption rate)
  • Resistant to alcohol, acids, oil and most cleaning solution
  • Completely non-toxic and non-caustic

Helping Larger People

This Med Sled is designed for helping your larger patients: it is not the question of the patient’s weight, but rather their girth, which is why Med Sled Bariatric provides an additional 12″ of width. While made for bariatric patients, it can also be used for ICU patients and post-op patients that might need to be transported with additional padding or life-support equipment.
