Jamar Discriminator
The Jamar Discriminator is suitable for testing both static and moving one and two point discrimination. The set includes two disks that quantify innervation density from one to 25mm.
One and Two-Point Discrimination
In neurological terminology, one-point discrimination is the ability to locate specifically a point of pressure on the surface of the skin.
Two-point discrimination is the ability to discern that two nearby objects touching the skin are truly two distinct points, not one, and reflects how finely innervated an area of the skin is.
Static and Moving Two-Point Discrimination
Static two-part discrimination test measures the number of nerve ending present in the area tested, whereas moving two-point discrimination measures the ability to discriminate between different areas of the body.
