What Is a Fall Mat?

A fall mat is a piece of equipment placed at the bedside of a patient to protect them in the event of a fall or roll out. The mat is padded and cushioned to absorb impact. The mat stops the patient falling onto the hard floor beneath.

What Happens In the Event of a Fall?

In the event of a fall, the cushioned centre of the mat will absorb the impact generated by the falling weight of a patient. The padded mat allows a patient to safely regain their footing or to stay on a safe surface until help arrives.
