The MicroMedical CO Smoke Monitor is a powerful diagnostic tool for measuring alveolar Carbon Monoxide in PPM concentrations and percentage Carboxy-haemoglobin. Operating from a single 9V PP3 battery for approximately 8000 tests, the Micro CO combines accuracy and simplicity making it the preferred choice for all types of health professionals worldwide.

What is COBRA software?

COBRA is a complementary Windows software package. It allows you to carry out and record real time breath tests on your desktop or laptop computer.

How is This CO Monitor Used?

Measurements are easily obtained from a single expiration and are aided by an auto-zero function at turn on, combined with a breath hold countdown timer. The results are then instantly displayed on the large, easy to read liquid crystal display, and are visually represented by the appropriate colour light indicator.

What are the Applications of This Monitor?

This CO monitor can be used to gauge cigarette smoking. The higher the level of CO the greater their cigarette consumption.

How Are the Indicator Levels of This CO Monitor Read?

Colour light indicators on this device give you an immediate readout. It should be read as follows:

• Green light: 0 to 6ppm
• Amber light: 7 to 10ppm
• Red light: 11ppm or higher
• Poison audio alarm: 72ppm

Alternately, results can be read through the complementary COBRA software package.

What Do These Readings Mean?

These readings can be used to determine cigarette consumption. A non-smoker should appear in the 0 to 6ppm range and show a green light. A light smoker should appear in the 7 to 10 ppm range and show an amber light. A moderate smoker should appear in the 11 to 20 ppm range and show a red light. A heavy smoker, defined here as above 20ppm CO level, will show a red flashing light accompanied by an alarm.
