Replacement Mask for the LifeVac Airway Clearance Device

The Replacement Mask for the LifeVac Airway Clearance Device can be purchased as a standalone product as an addition to the LifeVac Standard Portable Airway Clearance Device or LifeVac Wall-Mounted Airway Clearance Device Kit. The masks are available in a range sizes suitable for most adults (please note that the LifeVac cannot be used by people weighing less than 10kg).

• 1 x Replacement Mask (please select your size from the drop-down menu above)

Please note that in order to use the mask, you will need a LifeVac Airway Clearance Device (available separately).

What Sizes Are Available?

Masks for the LifeVac device are available in four sizes that should be suitable for most adults. Each size is colour coordinated for easier identification when needed, please see below for details:

• Adult Small (yellow)
• Adult Medium (green)
• Adult Large (orange)
• Adult Extra Large (red)

Please note that the LifeVac is not suitable for people under 10kg.

Who Can Use the LifeVac?

As agreed by the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency, the LifeVac device should only be used in the following situations:

• By registered healthcare professionals or individuals with advanced life support training, only if currently recognised basic life support protocols have failed; or
• In situations where emergency services are unable to respond, for example on aeroplanes or ships, only if currently recognised basic life support protocols have failed; or
• On individuals in moulded wheelchairs, only if currently recognised basic life support protocols have failed.
• LifeVac should not be used on children, in schools and in other public places such as restaurants and shopping centres.

Which Devices Can I Use These Masks With?

The LifeVac is available in three kits that are well suited to different uses:

• LifeVac Standard: Well suited to use in houses and smaller businesses
• LifeVac Wall-Mounted Kit: Supplied in a wall-mounted box ideal for care homes and areas with a high risk of choking

How Does the LifeVac Work?

LifeVac’s Airway Clearance Device works to quickly and easily remove any obstructions in the respiratory tract. This is done via a patented one-way valve system that prevents air being forced through the mask when depressed, creating a one-way suction to safely remove the lodged food or product.

How Easy Is the LifeVac to Use?

Is Non-Invasive Airway Clearance Safe?

Non-invasive airway clearance has a number of benefits including the following:

• No risk of damaging the oral cavity
• No risk of pushing the obstruction further down
• No risk of pushing the tongue back in panic situations
• No tubes that can become blocked
• No tubes activating the gag reflex and putting the casualty at greater risk
