It covers both prenatal and postnatal delivery scenarios for thorough education and training in a realistic situation to prepare students for the physical and emotional realism in a maternity ward.

Newborn Nursing Skills and ALS Simulator

Complete Lucy includes a Newborn Nursing Skills and ALS Simulator. This represents a full-term newborn baby measuring 19″ (49cm) form heel to crown, weighing around 3.5kg (7.5lb). The following training and functions are presented with this simulator:

• Airway, Breathing, and Ventilation: Auscultation of lung sounds during ventilation; bilateral lung expansion or cllapsed lung; ET tube insertion, size 3.5 with a #1 Miller blade; practice chest tube insertion and care of chest tube site; Sellick maneuvre, BVM
• Birth Normalities: Neutral tube defect; omphalocele
• CPR: Anatomical landmarks; realistic chest compressions
• Gastrointestinal (GI): Accepts OG/NG tube, 8 FR
• Umbilicus: Patient umbilicus with arteries and vein sites for cannulation or infusion; umbilical reservoir to hold 5ml
• Venous Access: Access in the right hand and foot; for achieving realistic flashback with pressurised system

Complete Set of Clots and Haemorrhages

To improve training, Complete Lucy facilitates training with blood clots and haemorrhages. They are durable and reusable for multiple birthing scenarios, and are provided in a selection of sizes and shapes. They can be used on their own, or simulated blood can be added to enhance simulation.

Realistic and Versatile Training

The Complete Lucy Birthing Simulator has been designed to provide realistic training with a wide range of functions. It covers birthing positions including hands and knees, lateral, and supine, and can accommodate educating in breech deliveries. It includes six cervices to cover six stages of dilation, and is equipped for training in vaginal, cesarean, forceps-assisted, and vacuum-assisted deliveries.

The Complete Lucy features intramuscular injection sites, and can be used to train students in postpartum care. In addition to all of the features provided with the Basic Lucy, it also includes training for blood clotting and haemorrhaging. With an articulating baby, fetal suction, and umbilical cord clamping, it covers everything students need to know to assist with delivery during childbirth.
